Divine Hand of Power Ministries, Message of the Week: Choose Life (1) John 5:39-40 “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life. John 7:19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keep the law? Why go ye about to kill me? The people answered and said Thou hast a devil: who goes about to kill thee? Every human is sensitive to any form of accusation. Our self control is often needed at the moment and time of any accusation, such that if our emotions are not guarded during the time of accusation(s), what we may hear can certainly have the potency of making us go off in flames, especially when the accusation is false. Now, when it comes to the things of the spirit, the spirit beings cannot lie to each other. However, the spiritual world of darkness can lie to humans. This is due to our inability to know their true activities and a sound awareness of their intricacies. Even a mere effort to open the details of its functionality can result in a self induced state of soporifics for any human. Now, consider this interaction between Jesus and His hearers from the Bible verses in the first and second paragraphs above. Here Jesus accused His listeners of a refusal to come to Him because they did not want to have eternal life. Here we can observe the natural reaction of his hearers -“does this sound familiar? “Do you think some of your family members and close friends are often offended by your preaching because they feel accused of sin, or that they are involved in one sin or another? Some of this evil may be so heinous that those involved will not allow some other family members to know. As a result, these people make up their mind to go to hell fire instead of repenting as a face saving measure among men, despite the fact that they know very well that the Holy One knows what is in their hearts. Luke 16:15 And He said unto them, “Ye are they who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. It is fascinating to observe that humans can allow themselves to be so deceived by the devil, especially when they reach a certain hierarchy in their evil associations in the power of darkness. However, the scripture above is not hidden to most people who attend church nor is it confusing to anyone who reads it. Sadly, what will be the most regrettable thing from those who attend church but are also involved in one evil practice or the other and on the other hand appear nice while preaching from the Holy Bible and subsequently end up in hell fire hoping for one more chance to repent? Genesis 4:9 And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said I know not: Am I my brothers keeper? There is no place in the Holy Bible that says that satan himself has ever doubted, expressed ignorance or argued against any judgement the Holy One passed on him at any given time, including what God said He will do to him in the future. Why? This is because satan takes every inch of every spoken word of the Holy One very seriously, because he knows that the Holy One cannot lie, and whatever he says He will do, that is exactly what will happen. Genesis 3:3-5 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Notwithstanding, satan was the first one and he has continued to be the one to convince the majority of the human race not to take any of the spoken word of God seriously. Subsequently, man has been finding out the consequences of disobedience just as Adam and Eve did! It is no wonder satan mocked man as if he was a piece of nothing. Job 2:4-5 And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. This is satans true observations and description of man even to righteous Job. However, the same devil will always tell man including those in the church and outside the church that they do not have to repent of their evil and sinful life but instead be nice to the poor, feed the hungry, have a good heart, and then it will be all alright, God is love! Remember that it is said in Revelation 3:18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
