Do Good … Feel Good 10 Day Challenge Why not create your own experiment using the Helpers Habit. Engage a group of friends or colleagues and start your own 10 day challenge and remember …Together we are better … use the commitment of the group to spur each other on and come up with a range of unusual but effective goodwill acts. Here are a few thoughts to get you started … · Smile and the whole world smiles with you - A simple smile at work, on the bus, at your café, or when you’re walking down the street can shift the mood of yourself and another. · Notice someone or something – Acknowledge a friend or colleague for an achievement, spare a gold coin for the performer in the mall, meet the gaze of the next homeless person or beggar you see on the street. People are not invisible. Averting or closing your eyes is no remedy for making our world a better place! · Like and share worthwhile causes and goodwill actions – show people you care. · Sign up & show up – join online petitions, local community groups, bush or parkland rejuvenation days, clean up campaigns or even your National Organ Donation Registry. · Pre loved provisions – clean out your cupboards, wardrobes and garage. Charities are always on the lookout for tinned food, toys, clothing and supplies especially with Christmas around the corner. · Reuse and recycle – Don’t be lazy! Take the extra effort to recycle where possible, especially old mobile phones, office stationary and equipment. · Volunteer – face to face, online or over the phone. There are a variety of ways to volunteer your time, skills & expertise. · Donate – whether it’s your spare change at the supermarket, a cause you are passionate about or helping the small guys that struggle to get funding. Fundraising is a tough ask, so why not take the initiative and offer a donation to the next charity you see. The opportunities to do good and feel good are endless. There are millions of people every minute of every day needing some form of support or help. There are millions of people like you and me who want to make a difference to the lives of others.
