Do Not Worry “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 If you sit and worry all the time about what is going to happen tomorrow, you will never have God’s peace. What did Jesus say? Do not worry about tomorrow, let each day take care of itself, but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then, Paul said: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (Philippians 4:6). It is so neat to be able to stand before the Lord and enjoy the grace and peace of God. If we are walking in the grace of God, what do we have to worry about? Think about it. Through God’s grace, we have salvation and an assurance of eternity with God. What is more important? What do we have to worry about? I will confess to you, there are times when I do not have the peace of God. Then, I read God’s Word and I am reminded, we all need to rest in the peace of God. That is what Jesus said in John 14:27. We have to remember, we do not receive grace and peace because of anything we do. They are from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, two persons of the Trinity—God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God. ~Alexander Maclaren~
