Do what makes you happy in life its so simple a concept. Yet, we continue to do the things that we dont care for. Work, because its self-sustaining. School, so that were able to work. Its a process that takes up a good portion of our lifetime. We go to school and work for the continuity of a functional society. But in the midst, a lot of people seem to lose their sense of passion and life calling. School is more of a chore, when it should be something pleasurable that enriches our minds. Work is another thing we wake up to do because its something were obliged to do. I see so much mediocrity...people pursuing degrees merely for the intellect and prestige that is associated with a certain career...people who are so disconnected and distanced from what made them happy because of always having to prepare for the next step. To my precious high school seniors: If youre burnt out from high school and arent ready to take the leap into college for whatever reason...there are other options available that can be just as, if not more, beneficial than starting college immediately after you graduate. My entire rant reduced into a single sentence: Do whats in your best interest, but remember that what makes you happy is equally important. Were typically forced to pick one over the other...Id like to know where the median is.
