Do you know what Im sick of? Do you know what pisses me off more than anything on this planet? WHY do the good people get dealt bullshit cards in life? Why does cancer attack the beautiful people, the good people, the genuine people and the courageous people on this planet? When was the last time you heard of anyone who might actually deserve a kick in the ass like this be diagnosed with cancer? This photo is one of my childhood heroes - actually two of them - the late Jeff Gittus (who was tragically taken too soon in his life in a road accident) and the also legendary Dennis Nash. I spoke to Dennis today on his way to chemo to remind him that he IS, not WAS, one of the greatest bloody humans that God ever pumped wind into. Hes got a bigger challenge right now with this evil cancer than he ever had on the back straight 200m mark on his sidecar. And Id like to know WHY. Its bullshit, sorry, hate to use language like that on here but thats what it is. Shane Krikke is a perfect example, and there are many many of my friends and 100000s of people throughout the world who fit the bill. Nashy has a huge fight on his hands. Heres a bloke who inspired thousands of people - myself included - on Friday nights with his amazing skill, daring and courage. A quiet bloke who hates being recognised, who loves digging holes with his backhoe, who loves going sideways and who probably hasnt upset more than a handful of people in his lifetime. Nashy youre without peer mate. Cancer, you suck. Dennis, were all on your sidecar this time...
