I am a writer with many years editorial and writing experience. I have written: - Articles for journals, periodicals, newspapers and websites - Essays within an academic context - Corporate communiqués and reports - Training documents, processes, procedures and policies - Organizational newsletters I have also done a significant amount of editing of others’ writings. In addition, I also have no little experience with the visual layout of reports, websites, etc. and can offer consultation about this as well. What I Am Not Offering: I am not, per se, offering ghostwriter services, so I am not offering to write your piece for you. It is your responsibility to draft out your piece. The only exception to this would be for short advertising blurbs, abstracts and the like. These I would be willing to write for you. What I Am Offering: One of the most time consuming but important ways to make your ideas come together into a cogent piece of writing is good editing and proofing, not only to ensure proper spelling and grammar, but also to ensure that your ideas are complete, logical and flow together well. Not doing so can make the difference between a well written piece that gets your ideas across, to a poorly written piece that makes little sense to your readers. How a piece is written is also dependent upon -who- you are writing it for. For example, if you are a technical person writing to a non-technical audience, this should dictate both the language you will use as well the content of your piece. These are precisely the services I am offering. I will proof your piece using your draft content to ensure proper spelling and grammar. I will also perform the role of an editor, re-wording or re-organizing the content of your piece in small but significant ways to ensure that your piece reads well and the ideas are clear and understandable. Where there are gaps in your ideas, I will draw these to your attention so that you might compensate for this. Cost: My cost for service is tailored to your proposal, but I try to make the costs reasonable for both my time and effort as well as your pocketbook. In short, I just need a picture of what you are trying to do and a sense of how much work I will have to do. Once I have an adequate picture of that, we can then come to an agreement about cost.
