Do you really need a BSN or MSN (bachelors or masters - TopicsExpress

Do you really need a BSN or MSN (bachelors or masters degree)??? Whats the point, you already have your RN associates right??? NO, NO NO, will you get a job after you graduate? In 2007 all big hospitals on the east coast & west coast got Magnet Hospital accreditation happy.... its basically a report card in terms of quality. Magnet accreditation mean Honor role, Deans list VIP Triple Platinum record.... what ever you wish to call it. BSN: - to be magnet Eligible 60% of nursing staff, MUST be BSN, MSN, not Associates How I got screwed, my hospital I worked at for 5 years (before my RN) wouldnt hire me with my ADN - associates degree!!! Got my RN, had 5 years of service with them & NOPE !!!! therefore 2 choices here: 1. no BSN or MSN & work at a non Magnet hospital (usually bad places to work, but hey its a job) 2. Get your BSN or MSN & have job security, because by 2020 there is being a BIG push for Higher education in the hospitals cheapest I found & a bunch of my co workers (RNs) did BSN grand canyon university 100% online - 11 months $11,000 - 13,000 MSN walden university ADN - MSN (skip bachelors) 100% online 20 months $28,000 HOPE THIS HELPS!!! Clear up any confusing. PLEASE add any cheaper BSN or MSN programs below ! :) simplenursing
