Do you recognise this brute? A reward awaits you Via MumbaiMirror A video of a man mercilessly thrashing a stray dog has gone viral, shocking animal lovers. An animal welfare group has offered a reward of Rs 1 lakh for the arrest of the brute. The minute long clip shows a man in a purple T-shirt and brownish shorts holding the stray by its hind legs and kicking its stomach savagely. He is egged on by shouts from friends who cant be seen. Mahya firav, mahya firav! can be heard in the otherwise inaudible clip. While the beating continues, the hound cries in pain. The People for Animals (Mumbai) has written to the Marine Drive police urging them to register a case. The letter, by Ava Affinwalla, says, As the language used in the video is Marathi, we believe that the video has been filmed in Maharashtra itself. Humane Society International India is offering Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the perpetrator. It takes a truly callous person to kick an innocent, defenseless dog, said N G Jayasimha, the societys managing director.
