Do you want to know why Dec. 25, 2014 was my best Christmas day - TopicsExpress

Do you want to know why Dec. 25, 2014 was my best Christmas day ever? Ill tell you why. It is because Jesus came to visit. I was on my way to a Christmas day dinner with a Canadian family but I suddenly had this desire in my heart to be with a Filipino family that only God knows who. Having forgotten the Canadians house number I was headed to, I decided to drop by the Holy Spirit parish office to pick it up. As I came to the empty parking lot, I noticed a newly arrived van at the spot where I usually park. Out came a Filipino family. They said they came for Christmas Mass. I said the last Mass was at 10am but its Christmas day and they havent had Mass so I opened the church for them and left them at the Blessed Sacrament chapel. But the Holy Spirit prompted me to give them Holy Communion. The husband however, stayed outside because accordingly he does not receive Holy Communion. I invited him to come in to join the prayers. We had a Penitential Rite and I even gave a short explanation about mortal sin and venial sin . We proceeded to the Liturgy of the Word. The Gospel verse, But to those who did accept him he gave power to become children of God, ...And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, inspired me to give a shared reflection on the Eucharist. As I gave the Holy Communion, the man declared aloud but fervently, Lord I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed. Then he closed his eyes and bowed down. I said, the Lord has given His WORD. JESUS IS THE WORD MADE FLESH, and He wants to dine with you in His Christmas meal. He opened his eyes and looked at the Blessed Sacrament before his eyes, opened his mouth and received Jesus. He was very grateful afterwards saying he has not received Holy Communion for 40 years since his teens, in spite of a Catholic wedding, because of how he had interpreted the prayer: LORD I AM NOT WORTHY TO RECEIVE YOU. BUT ONLY SAY THE WORD AND I WILL BE HEALED. Feeling unworthy each time, in humility, he said, he would not receive communion. I explained to him - it is Satan who prevents you from receiving Jesus so he suggests you are unworthy but God is a merciful and forgiving God and He forgives you during the penitential rite. It is the command of Jesus that we receive His Body and drink His Blood often and He even commanded, DO THIS IN MY MEMORY. Jesus will never contradict His own Word. It is Satan who will sow confusion and deception in your mind with a counterfeit humility. He was very grateful saying it was never explained to him that way before. He said. His family just came from the Philippines to spend Christmas with his sister-in-law for 2 weeks. What a long way to travel to meet Jesus on Christmas Day. Jesus is truly amazing! In this, I am grateful for the formation I got with Bukas Loob sa Diyos on spiritual warfare in the early 90s before I joined the MACE Sisters and the Eucharistic growth I received as a Religious Sister with the Missionary Apostles of Christ in the Eucharist (MACE.) Blessed be Jesus in the Eucharist!
