Doce Fire Update Friday June 21, 2013, 8:00 p.m. Fire Information: 928-445-1089; 928-445-1269 Fire Information Center Hours: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Website: inciweb.org/incident/3437 (may be intermittently out of service) Fire Facts: Location: 7 miles northwest of Prescott: burning in Granite Mountain Wilderness Size: 6,732 acres Percent Contained: 15% Cause: Human, under investigation. Number of Resources: 781 personnel including: 21 hand crews, 34 engines, 5 water tenders, 2 dozer, and 6 helicopters Injuries to Date: 1 (minor eye abrasion) Estimated Cost to Date: $3,391,708 primarily due to increase in aviation use today General Announcements: Iron Springs Road is now open to all traffic. No subdivisions east of Williamson Valley Road have been evacuated, but all remain on notice for potential evacuation. Today was hot, dry, and windy again. Fire managers will closely monitor weather conditions over the next several days, as hot, dry, and windy weather is expected to continue. Today’s Activities: Crews continued to hold and strengthen lines in preparation for burnout operations on the south and southwest flanks. On the north side, dozers continued indirect line construction as firefighters prepared a hiking trail system for potential firing operations, if necessary. Crews on the east side maintained a containment line created by last night’s firing operations, and scouted for new line locations. Along the southeast front, fire fighters continued indirect line construction. Evacuations: Granite Basin Homes, Black Jack, Camp Anytown, Sundown Acres, Cielo Grande, Old Stage Acres, Mint Creek Wash north to Cielo Grande (Dome Road), and American Ranch remain evacuated. Neighborhoods in the Williamson Valley corridor are on notice for potential evacuation. Road Closures: Iron Springs Road is now open to all traffic. Williamson Valley Road east of the fire between Pioneer Parkway and Outer Loop Road is open to residents only. Fire Closure Update: The entire area of the Doce Fire is closed to public access, including the Doce (Dosie) Pit road off Iron Springs Road.
