Dont be a robot. Know God in a deeper way today. 2 Corinthians 3:12-18 12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. 14 But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. 15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate[a] the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. Lately I have been struggling with my relationship with God. For a while it has seemed like it was a one sided relationship. I felt like I was doing the right things like reading the word, going to church, serving at church, etc. However, something was missing. What it was, was a closer relationship with Christ. It is crazy how you can go through the motions, like a robot, and not know what you are doing. What the scriptures above illustrate is that we are no longer separated from God. Moses had to where a veil and even when the priests went in to pray there was a veil that separated them from God. Since Jesus was crucified and resurrected we no longer have this separation. We can freely access Christ. So what I have learned this week is that I can fall into the traps of tradition and ritual. I can go through life as a robot without thinking about what I am doing. My life has been on auto pilot for the past few weeks or months. Now that I see that I can press in and draw closer to God. What I need to do is mix up my routine and get out of auto pilot mode. I need to make time to read the Word and pray. I encourage anyone who struggles with being on auto pilot to mix things up. And if you need help or prayer email me and I would be happy to pray for you.
