Don’t Write Us Off! The One News Colmar Brunton Poll taken - TopicsExpress

Don’t Write Us Off! The One News Colmar Brunton Poll taken between 21 – 25 June only polled 1002 voters that have a landline. Of these 15% were undecided or refused, that means around 850 voters signaled who they were voting for, i.e. 425 (50%) National; 246 (29%) Labour etc. It also had a margin of error of 3.1% which means it could look like this: National 46.9%; Labour 32.1%. If you accept that 850 voters with landlines are an accurate representation of the views of 3 million voters then that’s your choice, but I don’t because our own internal Polling is telling a different story. Furthermore, the comments that National have been making, especially during their congress held over the weekend, tells me that not even they believe those Polls because they are rigorously encouraging its supporters to get their voters to the polls and that they can’t be complacent – and that’s wise. In response to questions that have been raised about what we intend to do about it is simple, we will continue the ‘kanohi ki te kanohi’ approach, door knocking and also telephone polling so as to identify our supporters and then we intend to get them to the polling booths. The great thing about our canvassing is we are also identifying the undecideds many of whom didnt vote in 2011 – and I can tell you, they are swaying in our favour! #missingmillion
