Dottie DeBruhl, 86, of Gainesville, passed away August 1st 2014. Dottie was born in Lake Preston, South Dakota on November 17,1927 and was raised in Walla Walla. Washington. She was funny, charming and loved life. Dottie found joy in the arts and medicine programs at Shands. Dottie is survived by her life partner of 42 years, Madine Rawe, her children Renee Rawe and Mark Rawe, daughter-in-law Rhonda DeBruhl, many grandchildren and her two precious dogs, Georgia and Davey. She is predeceased by her sons Doug, Davis and Jamie. She worked 30 years for the Bell System in Washington, Ft. Lauderdale, and Gainesville, FL before retirement. The family will receive friends at Trinity Metropolitan Community Church of Gainesville, FL on August 23 at 11AM for a memorial service. There will be a potluck right after the memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arts in Medicine Program at Shands Hospital, Gainesville.
