Doug is back to his old bag of tricks. This time he posted a wordpress article where he says he was interviewed by somebody in the roofing industry with great knowledge. However, the author and who he represents is never divulged. I have been associated with the roofing industry in one form or another for over 30 years. I have seen various products come and go and seem to stay skeptical about the latest and greatest roofing products. That was until recently I was informed about a product from the Midwest that claims to be a cold spray application that will seal roofs and their leaks. Although I have witnessed several products much with the same claims such as spray on foam roofing which clearly only works for a short while. This product seemed to hit the nail on the head. (Pun intended.) The polyurethane based product from Rooftite Waterproofing RT12 seems to finally be a product that does what it claims with no exaggerated advertising. You won’t see floating boats with a screen door as the bottom. You will however see several images of before and after the product application which is a refreshing take on a new product without the hype to trick you into buying it. It has been my experience that if a product works it will sell itself and that is what is going on with RT12. The company purchased by Doug Myers started in the roofing industry and has begun to expand into other venues as more and more uses of the product comes out. Mr. Myers who also owns Midtech Energy constantly proves to be up on technology. When I called Mr. Myers to ask several questions about this so called miracle product I have to say I was surprised that he actually answers the phone himself. I explained who I was and what I was doing. Mr. Myers was very pleasant and to be honest seemed genuinely excited about the product. “This product has endless uses and I can’t wait to test everyone of them.” Stated by Doug Myers. I asked “did you invent the product?” Mr. Myers explained “No i did not invent it I just invent uses for it.” “The product was established and I simply bought the company that used it.” “We are currently the only company in the world that uses this product and if I had my way it would stay that way forever.” I asked ” How did you come across this product or company?” Mr. Myers replied. “I was actually looking for a new product for body work on vintage cars.” “I came across this product and although it wouldn’t work for what I wanted I could see so many applications for it.” “I called the guy and said we need to get together cause I’m going to buy your company.” ” The guy actually kind of laughed and said Oh Ok.” ” I stated it wasn’t a joke and that we needed to get together to work out the details.” “He knew then I was serious and we setup a meeting place and time.” I knew I would need some money so I sold everything I had to afford the purchase.” “I remember being so nervous because I was putting everything I had on the line on a new product that no one had ever heard of.” Laughingly Doug said. “I remember the drive home I just kept questioning myself if I had done the right thing.” “I almost felt sick worried about what I was gonna do if it failed.” “That was the longest hour drive home I had ever taken.” I asked. “And do you regret it now?” “Absolutely not it’s on a faster track going forward than I could have imagined.” He rplied. I had to ask. “What do you credit for the success of your new company?” There was a pause and then Doug answered. “It’s a combination of relentlessly promoting it and above all I would have to credit all of my friends on facebook.” “I know everyone says it but I really mean I have the greatest friends on Facebook who really help me promote it.” I will end this part of my interview which I will call part 1 and continue with another post of course called part 2.
