Downtown Akron had some curious happenings around lunch today ... first, I was behind a car with the vanity plate BSPEARS and a sticker that said, Got Britney? Must be a huge fan to pay for that plate. Then I tried to back into a parking spot on South Main. I actually did it in less than 5 tries, but when I went to see the spaces number so I could put the money in the meter, I couldnt find the number anywhere. I finally found a sign that said that space, and the one next to it, were reserved for funeral directors. Argh!! Then I saw a young man hand a just-bought sub to a homeless man trying to get out of the wind in a doorway. Kind of like Bill Murray feeding the homeless man soup in Groundhog Day, which I had just watched.
