Dr. Ellis Kackley - Family Line - Ford/Sundquist Three days after graduating with an M.D. from the University of Tennesse Dr. Ellis Kackley arrived in Soda Springs, Idaho on April 2, 1898 proclaiming he would become the best damn doctor in the west. Dr. Kackley would travel often up to 50 miles in blizzard conditions to reach the sick. He would build the first hospital in Soda Springs in about 1926. He became such a well known and trusted Physician and Surgeon that people from not only neighboring communities would travel to see him, they came from neighboring states as well. Before his death in 1943 Dr. Kackley deleivered over 4,000 babies. Over 2,500 people attended his funeral. 1st picture is him the day he arrived in Soda Springs, 2nd is his operating table, 3rd is the cover of a book about his life.
