Dr. Zakir Naiks visit to the Gambia seems to be robbing some people up the wrong way and I genuinely dont understand why? He is a bona fide Islamic scholar who base all his preachings on the teachings of The Holy Quran and our prophet Mohammed (S.A.W), even making valid references in accordance with the subject matter of discussion, from the most appreciate good book of religion, be it The Quran, Bible, Torah, and all the rest! I hope im wrong in thinking he is being attacked from every angle by some Gambians, just because he was invited by Our President, whom they dislike. That would be most unfair on him, because his credibility and gift from Allah must not be tarnished based on some peoples anger for his invitee. It would have been a different case entirely if Dr. Zakir randomly decided to visit The Gambia. My heart felt like it was being cut into pieces this morning when I read a posting about Dr. Zakirs visit to The Gambia, by Imam Baba Leigh. This is an equally great national hero of a man that I totally love with all my heart calling a fellow human, muslim brother a brown Indian monkey! The disappointment and embarrassment generated by this remark made by a personal Uncle, Islamic scholar and leader, is one I pray never to encounter again in my lifetime! Im left reeling and wondering where on earth will the future generation run to for advice on tolerance, acceptance, anger management and most importantly religious harmony! No hard feelings or political propaganda was the driving force for this article, im merely pouring my rightfully entitled personal opinions.
