Ignorance is the cause for one to attribute reality to duality. Not knowing ones own true nature, one seeks peace externally. Since one seemingly gets temporary physical and emotional benefits from the world, he comes to consider the outside world as the truth. The world when taken as truth actually gives more problems to the person. Ones dependency on the undependable world increases. The world is constantly changing just like we ourselves are. How can two variables coexist for eternal happiness? This is illogical.
