During the severe weather yesterday, we posted that there was a test of the Giant Voice system, which was incorrect. There was no test, but rather an activation of our alert system to inform the community of the imminent danger of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. We are working through yesterdays miscommunication and are addressing the problems that lead to the confusion. We in the Fort Bragg region face a similar severe weather threat today and we urge our community members to stay abreast of the weather forecasts. If the Giant Voice is activated, immediately seek shelter and check the news and National Weather Service.
