Beth Voss Hey Folks, Just an update on the little TN girl that we call Ginger Snaps....she had a tooth cleaning on Mon and didnt seem to come out of the anesthesia as fast as others but nothing unusual. She was examined before the cleaning and all was well. In fact, she was her bouncy self when I dropped her off. She threw up water a couple of times on Tues but was drinking well. Again, nothing alarming. Yesterday, she threw up a couple of times again but appeared to be basically ok. She went out to potty, trotted around, seemed to be doing a bit better. She was drinking well and I decided to take her in to the vet this morning. Well, last night around 9 she started with diarrhea and I called the vet and took her in last night. She had a bad case of whip worms. He said he thought something else was wrong but thought it might possibly be a case of gastroenteritis which could be caused by whip worms, change in diet, all the upheaval of being in the shelter and then coming here. High strung dogs and all that. She was pretty perky when we got to the clinic. She was checking things out and her ears were perked up...she was interested in the goings-on. He started her on fluids, gave her something for vomiting, Baytril, Panacur and she stayed at the clinic. I just got a call from the clinic. She has tested positive for Parvo. This dog is around 4 years old. She was spayed by her previous owner so at some point had had a parvo shot..or they wouldnt have taken her in whatever clinic it was. She had a dhlpp shot at the shelter on the 21. I got her on Thurs. It HAD to come from the shelter as that is the only time frame that fits the incubation period. Long story short....this is going to run around between 350-500. We need help with this one. I wouldnt ask if I didnt. You can Paypal us at [email protected] or you can call the vet direct...Dr. Tate: 615-848-5439. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
