SEEK PROFESSIONAL ADVICE FROM A PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND MAKE MEDICAL TESTS BEFORE STARTING A PHYSICAL ACTIVITY! In September 2011, when I went first time to Argentina to compete in Athletics Metropolitan Tournament in Buenos Aires, I informed where there was a place of altitude training in Argentina, because I knew the geography of Argentina had many mountain regions. Then, in Brazil, changing emails and phone calls with some coaches, officials and athletes from Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata, I informed that there was a distant town called Cachi, in northern Argentina and were gradually giving me contacts of persons involved with the sport in this city. With the end of 2011 approaching, I had three places to altitude training: Paipa in Colombia to 2700 meters, Cachi in Argentina to 2300 meters and Campos do Jordão in Brazil to 1800 meters. Researched, and informed and Paipa would be absurdly expensive. Campos do Jordão town no expensive for me, including end of the year, athletes from all Brazil training in Campos and would be a great opportunity to talk with athletes and coaches to get a athletics club that was my main goal. Nevertheless I decided dont training for 30 days in Brazil in altitude, because I could training of other athletes just to be inserted, to be in the group and enter in club, my training would not be prepared by myself, would to do politics of the athletes and coach to get access to a club; probably my performance would not be the best. My focus is better time! The third and last option was the small town Cachi in Argentina, 2300 meters high. I was already to go to Argentina, (more economic than Paipa in Colombia, but more expensive than Campos do Jordão in Brazil). I would force my maturation in Argentina to leave the bubble of comfort in my country, go through some unexpected, would have to adapt to a completely different place and would be more benefic to train alone, with the highest concentration and no interference on my income and results. Stay 30 days into the unknown, thats what happened! When I informed that hay un poblado que és Cachi in spanish language (have village calls Cachi), at first I reluctant, afraid to go there, because sometimes one of the images in Brazil about the village is a place that is totally isolated everything and everyone (tourist or outsider), can be attacked at any time. I started to calm more when I contacted some people in Cachi, about accommodation, food and how to arrive in the town. Researched information and images on the Internet, the place really existed and was more confident in check on the internet to see who had synthetic track athletics (professional) and an athletic training center in the full altitude. I was! But no illusion: go to any other country is not sea of roses, requires careful attention to detail and constant alertness, mainly because I went into the unknown. Alone has to bear the consequences, provide and do the job on my own risk. I booked the hotel, but I could not pre-booked the restaurant... I would have to provide it when I was in Cachi town. I boughted the airplane tickets of the chilean company Lan, checked flight times, checked my identity document (Mercosul countries such as Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina do not need passport), enable my debit card (Bank of Brazil - Banco do Brasil) to use abroad, packed my bags with all the clothes, food supplements, study books and DVDs and materials in athletics training. Print all information and details required and... okay! Two weeks before travel, I had purchased of the companys U.S. Road Runners an athletic shoe with only 3.1 oz weight, ultra-light, just to go and train in Argentina. The order (yellow and blue, colors of brazilian flag) delayed. Only one day for board, finally I received my material. Lets go! the next morning I boarded Guarulhos to Buenos Aires capital (connection) to the city of Salta. I slept in the city of Salta and just the other morning I took a bus with about 4 hours to reach my final destination: the small town of Cachi, northern Argentina. on the road, I saw mountains with snow peaks, fresh air, small rural villages, vegetation with cacti and shrubs, the beautiful river, all spectacular! The bus moved forward, and I, with the window open, deep breath in the land of the InKas, stuffing my face and spirit of hope to train and evolve in athletics. How I was suspicious and a little scared, the tactic was: talk little as possible, just enough to survive and obtain basic informations. I arrived at the Nevado de Cachi Hotel, I had pre-booked with the owner mr. Roberto and I was also very well received by D. Ilda I welcomed. I thanked and I was calming. In the room had no TV, so the best to not waste time, focus and concentrate better in hard training. The fatigue hit once, I lay / extend in my bed a little, but immediately got up, took a quick shower / bathing and calmly, I took out my stuff of the bags, organizing everything with ease and attention to logistics site. Had two beds, then one of them, I organized my clothes drills, tennis / shoes, food supplements, books and DVDs athletics, finally, to be all within easy reach. After fix / resolve everything, put a shirt, shorts, my training / track shoes and my stopwatch / timer. It was late afternoon and the heat was still / simply very strong. Go forth lightly trotting around town in order to make the general recognition of the place. I did not know if he was going left or right. I chose the right side and started trotting, the city was quiet, nobody in the cobblestone streets. He needed to find dirt road to ride cross country and, as the town is small, so I found a good winding road with stones. I went forward, always trotting lightly, watching and absorbing everything he saw. Suddenly over the road! Strange, how so? To me left to go downhill, gliding on the stones and scraped up my leg on a bush undergrowth to get to another road that I had envisioned from the top of the hill. I kept trotting, seeing some rural houses made of mud, enjoying the unique landscape that I had never seen in my life. Suddenly, out of nowhere appears a big dog (“perro” big dog) running towards me. Instinctively I put my hand on the floor and the dog was calmed gradually turned to trot (tactic used by many runners and athletes who definitely have experienced this situation at least once in their life), advancing into unknown territory and clearing the site . I greeted some farm workers, until, as there was no water to hydrate me, I made the journey to get back in town again. It was very important, even very tired from the trip I speed up the recognition process from local to trot as well, I harvest some interesting and important to me better locate, geographically speaking. There were 50 minutes of jogging. Upon arriving at my hotel, took a shower, ate a granola bar that had led water me well and went looking for the market to buy some cereal, milk and biscuits for breakfast the next day, because in the morning, myself rearranging , locating me, me standing in place and still without my spreadsheet full of elaborate drills that myself, would go to my debut at the racetrack. When asked to pay anything at the grocery store that I was the owner of the trade, a very friendly woman asked me, Are brasileño? Muy biene / very good, Brazil, which delights me. She told me she knows Balneário Camboriú beach, Santa Catarina province, which is very green and he likes the joy of the Brazilian people. The thanked the purchase and went back to the hotel. Gradually, as the days passed, I became more at ease, taking over the place of distrust, because he was being very well received by people living in Cachi. I dined at a restaurant in town, but soon realized that I should make a point of asking rice every day, at every meal, because rice is not the main course here is trim. But for me its just the main course and not having beans here, must be even more careful with my diet, which should be developed as energy expenditure is large. At night, I was sitting in the central square of the city, enjoying the site. Soon I went to sleep early, because after all, I was only the dust of Rabiola. I am amazed at the pure air of the city. I could hardly believe, 30 days, 1 full month just to train without worrying about anything else, without the pressure of external factors and other commitments, only workouts. Naturally ecstasy was being left out because the responsibility was great: train every day at altitude to evolve in athletics! The competition began! 15/12/11 - THURSDAY – LATE (2011 year / December month) I arrived in the town of Cachi, Salta province - Argentina, at 2300 meters altitude, to stay 30 days in training in athletics, with the aim of download time on tests 800-meter dash and into the club Orcampi city of Campinas. I went straight to the hotel that I had pre-booked my stay and was well received. I arranged my suitcases, I was becoming. Soon I was trotting around 50 minutes into town, in order to better locate me where each place is where I am really. Wedding day of my brother, Im not there ... but its for a good cause! The way the town of Cachi Argentina: narrow, winding roads, it seemed that the bus would drop us precipices ... wonderful scenery! 16/12/11 - FRIDAY - MORNING I still reorganizing / tracking, I went to my debut on the track, in the Altitude Training Center, a place surrounded by poplar trees that exude a pleasant smell that cleanses the body while running. I made a great trainer.
