EASTERN STARS FC IN FUND RAISING DRIVE FOR CYCLONE ITA DAMAGE IN MILNE BAY PROVINCE……………………………… Eastern Stars FC will be using its Home Game this Saturday as an opportunity to raise funds for the devastation caused by Cyclone Ita that passed through the Lousiade Archipelago in Milne Bay province this week. Franchise owner Joseph Ealedona said reports coming from Misima, Sudest and Rossel suggests massive damage caused by the category 2 cyclone when at Misima and increased to category 4 when it hit North Queensland. “ I urge the people of Samarai Murua especially and people of Milne Bay and Papua New Guineans to contribute to this worthy cause. We will also give some of these funds to the Solomon Islands High Commission to deliver to the people affected by the severe flooding of Mataniko River in Honiara where thousands are homeless and about 23 people dead.” Mr Ealedona said there will be a Wheel Barrow push around the Bisini Soccer Grounds at half time of the main fixture between Stars FC and Gigira FC game. “ I know the Provincial Government together with the National Government will do all it can and our effort is a minimal support of which all citizens must do not only for this but for all natural disaster that hit mankind.”
