ELIZABETH JOIE MUNRO SWANSON August 27 2014 Elizabeth Joie Munro Swanson, 76, died Wednesday August 27th 2014 in San Antonio, TX surrounded by family. She was born in Bloomington, Illinois in 1938, and raised as a beloved daughter to William and Josephine Munro. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, George Swanson, sons Brent and Pape Swanson and their wives, Shannon and Natalie, grandchildren, Kendall, Hailey, and Taylor, and sister, Jill Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine Munro, Harry E. Bast, and son Bradley Swanson. Her greatest joys were being a wife, raising her three sons, and spending time with her numerous friends. She was a very successful registered Interior designer for over 31 years and took great pride in working with her clients who usually became cherished friends. She also loved to travel the world, snow ski, get together with her bridge group, and spend time with family and friends. She was an avid reader who loved to learn and following in her Mother’s footsteps; she regularly sent her sons advice cut out from her 1,000 plus magazines. She attended Colorado State University and was a very proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was always quick to volunteer her time to many organizations in numerous communities. The family would like to send a sincere thank you to all the people who helped her through her courageous fight. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at First Presbyterian Church, 404 North Alamo St. in San Antonio, TX on Monday September 15th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
