EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY INTERNAL/EXTERNAL PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER (State-funded Communications Coordinator) Position #10005 Administrative Office of the Courts Sixth Judicial Circuit Description of Work: Responsible work with varied and critical duties in areas that include: Media – Serves as the contact on all queries from news outlets, coordinates all media activity at the Circuit’s courthouses, provides and places accurate information, insightful points of view and essential press conferences; Public Records – Is the initial responder to most requests for copies of documents or archived materials; Special Events – Manages programs such as Adoption Day, Juror Appreciation, non-news media doings such as movies and documentaries, certain activities effected by visitors and assigned tasks for changes of venue; Community Outreach – Conducts courthouse tours, manages the Speakers Bureau and is the primary contact for local schools seeking to stage mock trials, place interns and do shadow programs; and Editing/Designing – responds to requests from all departments to edit for grammar and content, advise on content of documents and consults on or produces brochures, videos and web presentations. Minimum Training and Experience Required: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and four years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing or other communications career; or an equivalent of education, training and experience. Location: Pinellas County Justice Center, 14250 49th St. N., Clearwater, FL 33762 Salary: $4,370.40 monthly; State Pay Grade 28; Start date is July 1 with Temporary Status until Oct 1.
