Reserves will assist the Lorenzo Police Department in the enforcement of the law and maintenance of peace and order. This is a non-paid volunteer public safety position that requires working of unusual hours, rotating shifts, working under inclement weather conditions and stressful situations, and frequent contact with the general public. Reserves are expected to complete a minimum of 30 volunteer hours per month, special events and call outs. Reserves must provide their own duty weapon, gear and boots. Uniforms will be provided. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Education, training, experience: Applicants must be TCLEOSE certified, have a valid Texas Driver’s License, No felony convictions or major misdemeanor charges or admissions, good moral character, stable employment record and no history of any conduct which may affect suitability for law enforcement work. Candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screen and be physically fit to perform assigned duties. Officer shall complete a modified FTO Program. Recent academy graduates are encouraged to apply. Non-paid officers shall be given first opportunity consideration when a full-time position becomes available.
