EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER II (MSW), HURLEY, FLINT Category: Professional/Management Facility: Hurley Medical Center Department: Case Management Schedule: Full time Shift: Nights Hours: 2-12H & 2-8H per week GENERAL SUMMARY: Interacts as an interdisciplinary team member in the assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment plans for patients in one or more specialized areas of medical social work. Complies with all appropriate safety and infection control standards. Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities. Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a courteous and customer-focused manner according to the Hurley Family Standards of Behavior. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the direction of a director/manager or designee who reviews work for conformance with Medical Center policies and procedures. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Senior Social Work Case Manager or other Licensed Masters Social Worker. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise other professional social work staff such as Bachelor’s prepared social workers, Masters and Bachelor social work interns, and volunteer staff. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: · One year work experience preferred · Master’s degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). · Knowledge of established social work practices, principles of public welfare, community organization and social welfare administration. · Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written modes. · Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records and reports. · Ability to stand for long periods of time. · Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with physicians, patients, community support agencies, Medical Center staff, and the general public. · Must have reliable transportation and a valid Michigan Driver’s License in order to make frequent visits to clients’ homes.
