While Phytomeds roots are embedded in traditional herbal philosophy, we combine this approach with the latest research to produce herbal medicines of the highest quality. We are looking for a motivated, keen individual to join our team in Avondale, Auckland. This is a newly created position which provides an opportunity to put a variety of skills to use and join our unique company in this exciting period of growth and expansion. This will be a support role to the Managing Director, to oversee, coordinate & manage new product development projects. In liaison with other key departments within the business, duties of this diverse role will include: Overseeing concept development and formulation trials Undertaking literature research and obtaining scientific and market data of relevance to new product concepts and proposals Locate and liaise with new and existing growers and suppliers of product ingredients and packaging Co-ordination of market research and consumer testing of pilot and end stage new products Investigation of regulatory requirements in various markets Preparation and analysis of costings for new products Liaison with the Phytomed QA department and external laboratories with regards to stability validation of new products Assessment of commercialisation considerations and assisting the Sales and Marketing department with execution of the marketing plan for new products Strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task are keys to success in this busy position. To be successful you must also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, as you will be dealing with a wide range of people within and outside the company. Competency in the full Microsoft Office Suite is required. A qualification in a relevant biological science subject, and experience in researching and appraising the scientific literature, is preferred. Prior experience in a product development or product commercialisation role would be advantageous A qualification in Herbal Medicine or Naturopathy (including herbal medicine) from a recognised training establishment, or some experience in the natural products industry is preferred but not essential.
