ETHNO RELIGIOUS POLITICS DIVIDING NIGERIA FASTER THAN WE KNOW Today I woke up to a news headline on punchng newspaper that read Anglican church Enugu dares PDP reading the news I found out the church was angry that PDP was presenting a catholic governorship candidate and a catholic deputy governorship candidate, they insist that the deputy governor must be Anglican. Very soon mountain of fire, winners, apostolic etc will soon start clamouring for their share too. how did we get to this point? I have sadly observed and listened to several friends and associates state that the reason for their support for a candidate is because he is from my place. today the Nigerian voters have been deceived by politicians with statements like he is a Christian,vote for him,he is a muslim, vote for him ,he is from the north,vote for him or he is from the south, vote for him unknown to the ignorant voters, none of these postulations really has their interest at heart....DO NOT BE DECEIVED! once upon a time we really did not really care where we were from or what religion we practiced, now we are so conscious of it and even more conscious of it in our dealings with others, further plunging, us into a more disunited entity called Nigeria, how can anyone with critical thinking ever say the only basis for their support for a candidate or non support for a candidate is because of their tribe or religion? why did we allow politicians fool us so? Nigeria has been ruled through the years by both Christians and muslims...yet we are in a very precarious position, is it caused by Christian leaders or muslims leaders?NO! it is caused by human beings! and these humans whether Christian,traditinalist or muslims can be good or evil. As the campaign gears up, you will have people come to you with different gimmicks, ask them what(based on facts) their government plans that will benefit you and your generation, the moment anyone comes to you to sayVote A or B because of religion or tribe brush them aside as foolish people. we have to become more conscious and aware lest we keep being played by politicians, power should always be with the people. my brother is anyone who has my interest at heart, not the one from my religion or tribe
