EXCELLENT LETTER IN THE DAILY NEWS: Quinn’s heat hypocrisy Whitestone: My daughter was an intern for Christine Quinn for several weeks in July but left because she was taken advantage of, her health put at risk and she was being taught how to lie to authority figures. When we were in a heat wave early in July, Quinn — who showed such concern for the intern who passed out at one of her rallies — did not show such concern when the news cameras were not rolling. Interns canvassed outside in 95-plus degree heat for eight hours without being provided with even a bottle of water. My daughter would travel from Queens to downtown Manhattan only to be told to return to Queens to canvass — at her own expense. She was taught how to lie to doormen in order to sneak into buildings to canvass prospective voters. Apparently Quinn and her staff think it’s okay to teach impressionable youngsters how to get around reasonable rules in order to meet their own needs. Her hypocrisy is distressing in a woman who wants to make education policy for our students. - Joanne Cirincione
