EXO’s award spree continues in China: K-pop boy band EXO nabbed two awards at the MIGUHUI Awards held in China on Saturday. EXO won two honors -- Asia’s Most Popular Group and Best Performance -- for its third EP, “Overdose.” “We are honored to receive such a great award. Thanks to all of those who have been supporting us. Our fans EXO-L, thank you and love you,” said the members during the acceptance speech of the prize. The boys performed their hit songs “Growl” and “Overdose” onstage for an audience of some 28,000 at the event. The MIGUHUI Awards is one of the China’s major year-end music awards held since 2007 by the nation’s largest mobile carrier China Mobile. EXO’s achievement is hardly surprising given the rookie group dominated several year-end music awards by winning major prizes. Most recently, EXO won four major prizes -- Best Asian Style, Best Male Group of the Year, Asian Artist of the Year and Album of the Year -- at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards held in Hong Kong. Despite defections by two Chinese members, the Korean-Chinese band has been actively engaged in the K-pop scene in 2014 with their five-track EP “Overdose,” released in May. The idol group plans to make a return to the K-pop scene early next year.
