The Illiac Passion, one of his most highly acclaimed films, is a visionary interpretation of Prometheus Bound starring mythical beings from the 1960s underground. The cast includes Jack Smith, Taylor Mead, Beverly Grant, Gregory Battcock and Gerard Malanga, and Andy Warhol appears as Poseidon riding an exercycle, Still Life Uberto Pasolini (no relation, but actually Viscontis nephew) made the ingenious choice of propelling Eddie Marsan to leading man in this wonderful film that has its indie sensibilities materializing through a serenade using all of your heart strings. Thijs is a seemingly happy-go-lucky 32-year-old eternal student who leads a life filled with beer, girls, handouts from his mother, hanging out with his housemate and doing stints at a characterless electronics store now and then.
