Earlier, Kathy graciously asked me to mention a bit about myself relative to this site. But I’m soooo shy (LOL!) Anyway…one of my gigs is partner in (with my wife Sophie Bond), and Editor of, Canadian Antiques & Vintage magazine (previously known as The Upper Canadian). Around in a couple of incarnations since 1963, we’re Canada’s only national magazine available at the newsstand and by subscription that addresses the niche of antiques, folk art, period fine art, and vintage collectibles of various genres. We cover the major shows and auctions around antiques, folk art, old fine art, vintage, nostalgia across the country, and also publish feature stories on genres of collecting and individual pieces, interviews with collectors, dealers, feature antique-related travel, showcase period collections in museums, do book reviews, Q&A on heirlooms people write in about…all that sort of thing and more. (Im writing this having just arrived in Napanee, where Im covering the auction of a major Quebec collection tomorrow!) We publish 6 times a year. At the newsstand, the mag is $7,95 or $47.70/year. Our normal subscription is $34/year, but it’s soon to go up. All are plus tax.
