Early September, 2013, the most unique canine soul Vincent Bernard - TopicsExpress

Early September, 2013, the most unique canine soul Vincent Bernard crossed the Rainbow Bridge, leaving wonderful memories and sad hearts across many families. Miss Betty had joined us as a foster, but they quickly bonded into a loving pack that lasted a short only three months, becoming my first foster failure. Our pain was eased three weeks later when Vincent guided a senior gentle fellow named Drake from death row to live out his years in peace. It was love at first sight, and he quickly became our Bernie in honor of Vincent Bernard. In November of last year, Bernies blood tests showed the need for an ultrasound, which revealed several liver tumors. The prognosis was for one to three weeks at best. To everyones surprise, Bernie has shared another full year of the kindest, most gentle soul Ive ever encountered. It is hard to believe someone allowed the most perfect canine Ive ever known to wind up on death row, but I thank them for allowing him to find his forever home with Miss Betty, Mickey MacMouse and me. Bernies liver tumors have grown to the point that he will cross the Bridge in the next few days to be greeted by my Mom who adored him, and his spiritual caregiver and namesake, Vincent Bernard.
