EastEnders Mick Carter faces his worst fear next week when it becomes apparent that he cant swim. When Billy (Perry Fenwick) encourages the locals to sign up to Janets sponsored swim, he manages to persuade a reluctant Mick to take part. It soon becomes evident that Mick (Danny Dyer) cant swim and is petrified of water, but proceeds to go along, determined not to be beaten. When Micks attempts at swimming backfire after his fears get the better of him, he is forced to back out, leaving him frustrated. However, keen to escape his family dramas, Mick decides to head back to the swimming pool later in the week. While he is there, Mick finally fights his demons and faces the water with the support of Ian, who finds the experience similarly helpful. EastEnders airs these scenes next week on BBC One.
