Education is a wonderful thing, sometimes it appears to be wasted on the young. Sometimes teachers believe that missing 10 days schooling is detrimental to a childs education. I think that in Great Britain in 2014 it is all about money. There needs to be a point where we say enough is enough. Yes, teachers want better pay and conditions, holiday firms want to maximise profits, families want to go on holiday. The one thing that isnt considered is the parents of the children, they have work commitments too, they have a fixed budget and it seem they are the ones who end up paying, no matter what, through taxes, fines or increased cost during school holidays. Perhaps the decision makers should climb down from their Ivory Towers and take a long hard look at what is going on in this country, before it is too late.
