Ekenwa Uchenna writes: God, I agree that Nigeria is in limbo because of the absence of moral ethics in both our private and public lives. I remember sometime in 2004 when I went to NEPAs office to resolve an issue and the secretary to the oga I needed to see was just reading the bible or having quiet time at the wrong time but I waited for her to finish and when she did, I introduced myself and mission but to my chagrin surprise she demanded I put something in an envelope before seeing her oga but I just shook my head and took a walk away. A pastor will condemn men that beat their wives on the pulpit every time he preached against domestic violence but always beats his wife, even on that same day he would be preaching that topic. Today, we get shocked by many revelations hitting the newsstands, airwaves, and media on the many atrocities in Nigeria bringing tears to God and mankind; is it the $1bn loan approved for anti-terrorism when the country could have either taken money from its Excess Crude Account or external reserve as funding source? Is it the missing $20bn that Nigerians cant see the outcome of its forensic audit under a below-performing finance minister whom is simply collecting her retirement benefits? Is it the aviation saga? Is it the $9.3m ferried money to SA? Is the $1bn Malabu oil saga? Is the fuel subsidy scam? Plenty questions de in the queue! There are many issues that beg the questions but I have come to terms with a reality that many young aspiring or prospective politicians, and public servants are just going out there for their personal pockets, nothing more because you begin to ask questions when people like Festus Keyamo, 9ice, and others vie for political offices, since the political industry is the only industry that has never witnessed RECESSION anywhere in the world!!! Finally, to both private and public office holders or aspirants; you may say that you are not accountable to the people or the laws of the land but do not forget that you are definitely accountable to God and hes going to ask you for your accountability records after you close your EYES to death and that will determine where you will have your ETERNAL rest!
