Elizabeth 3:50 PM To: letters@news-jrnl pattonelizabeth@yahoo Response to Holly Hill Commissioner John Pennys Ad As a former Holly Hill Commissioner I had the opportunity to work with Commissioner Penny and know first hand his smile to your face and stab you in the back mentality. This attitude was apparent in Commissioner Pennys ad in the Voters Guide that came out on Sunday. I was appalled at the reference to opponent Crazy Eddies place of residence. Commissioner Penny voted to allow a current sitting Commissioner to remain on the Dais after that commissioner publicly admitted to not living within his commission district for a while, a violation of the City Charter. So really?! Now residency becomes an issue for Commissioner Penny. I was also appalled at the picture used to represent his opponent, Chris Via. This was an apparent attempt to sabotage Chriss campaign by using a picture of Chris when he was a teenager, not his campaign picture. Chris is now a grown man, a father of a 3 year old and has his own record label. I guess Commissioner Penny, who has teenage sons himself, thinks young men cant be accomplished businessmen. Guess he doesnt realize that the number of young millionaires under the age of 26 is at the fastest growth rate ever. These low blow tactics used by Commissioner Penny represent why new blood needs to be voted in. Holly Hill needs new leadership, new ideas, new starts. Holly Hill needs real people in office, not someone who spends more on one ad than the average citizen in Holly Hill makes in two months, or more on its campaign than most make in a years time.
