Elohim and the Spirit of God If Elohim (plural noun) created the heaven and the earth, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, does that mean that God has a Spirit, or that God is Spirit? Elohim (plural noun) is God. Spirit of God is God. They are both the same - One God - not two gods. Genesis 1: 1 ¶ In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 ¶ And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. John 4:24 God is a Spirit, and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, Isa 48:16 Come ye near unto Me; hear ye this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord GOD and His Spirit hath sent Me. Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD hath anointed Me to preach good tidings unto the meek. Hereby we know the Spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. Ge 41:38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? Ps 143:10 Teach me to do Thy will, for Thou art my God. Thy Spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
