Emergency evacuation warnings have been issued by the NSW Fire Service for the Southern Highlands areas of Hilltop, Balmoral and the village of Wilton as 14 of the states 59 bushfires currently raging are uncontrolled. Burning embers remain a huge concern - especially to residents of Wilton - as they can travel up to 20 km and remain active depending on the wind strength. Other areas of concern as at 3pm Monday AEST remain Lithgow and Bilpin with community centres open for evacuees at the Lithgow Workers Club and North Richmond Community Club. Bell residents have been ordered to leave west along Bells Line of Road.
