Employment Opportunity Edmonton Aboriginal Seniors Centre Position Title: RESOURCES AND SERVICES COORDINATOR Responsible to: Executive Director General Summary: Responsible for the planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of the EASC programs and services according to goals and objectives. This position is also responsible for securing program resources including determining volunteer requirements according to existing policies and procedures. Essential Functions and Duties: 1. Develop, implement and expand programs and services for members. 2. Ensure successful implementation of existing programs 3. Consult with staff to determine organization needs for volunteer services. 4. Access resources and work in conjunction with other organizations/agencies to encourage coordination and reduce duplication of services. 5. Responsible for promotion of programs and services. 6. Prepare and submit reports, budgets and project proposals as required. 7. Maintain accurate service and program participant records and statistics. 8. Attend and participate in agency and community meetings to recruit volunteers. 9. Maintain a database of volunteer workers with job descriptions and training plans. 10. Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of programs, services and volunteer services. 11. Schedule and coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation events. 12. Supervision of practicum and work experience students as well as community service placements. Additional Duties: 1. Participate in the planning and organizing of fundraising activities. 2. Responsible for van usage, maintenance, scheduling and recruitment of drivers with appropriate certification. 3. Submit newsletter copy monthly on activities. 4. Update meeting room calendars and schedules for member use. 5. Supervise Cleaning and Driving staff 6. Newsletter development and implementation Qualifications: College graduate with diploma in office administration or combination of experience and skills Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments in a timely manner Excellent communication skills including writing and speaking Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and traditions Must possess genuine empathy, sensitivity and caring for seniors Please email your cover letter and resume attn.: [email protected] Closing Deadline: Feb 15, 2014
