En anglais seulement RCMP lay charges for multi-million dollar investment fraud Nova Scotia RCMP have charged a 64-year-old Port Williams man in relation to a multi-million dollar fraud following a 16-month investigation. In June 2012 the RCMP received a complaint of a possible banking and investment fraud against the Royal Bank of Canada by two Nova Scotia companies: Advanced Commission Company of Canada and Capstan Management Limited. The RCMP Financial Crime Team began an investigation and determined both companies, owned and operated by Gregory Paul Burden, defrauded the Royal Bank of Canada over a period of six years by submitting fraudulent financial statements. Mr. Burden is facing several charges including three counts of Fraud Exceeding $5,000 and 12 counts of Uttering Forged Documents. He is set to appear at the Kentville Provincial Court on December 16, 2013.
