End of term report ! . We cannot afford it!. The government say, As the cutbacks continue, day after day, You cannot have more!, the money`s been spent !. ( Then they vote for a rise of eleven per; cent ! ). The economies booming, we`re zooming along, Leading the field !. Is the Chancellor`s song, Looking at blue skies, smelling the flowers !. ( But the only new contracts contain `zero hours !`). We`re doing our best with the old NHS, We are closing a few, but we`re not in a mess, The others will cope, they will withstand the load!. ( But they`re putting up tents at the side of the road ! ). Your pensions are good!, and you will get a rise !. ( But at just twenty pence, it` a drop in disguise). It`s a `benefit now! . That is their latest new cry, ( And they`re holding it back, and they hope you will die). If you give us your vote on that one day in May, then all of the bad times will soon pass away, We will give you the moon, in exchange for your cross!.
