Engage The Word, 40 Days In Nehemiah DAY 12 – THROUGH MANY DANGERS, TOILS, SNARES… MOUNTAINS SCRIPTURE: 12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, “Wherever you turn, they will attack us.” 13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. 14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.” The bad news continues… (Nehemiah 4:12)… Wherever you turn, they will attack us. That news makes me excited to get up every morning and face the day!! But Nehemiah steps in… (Nehemiah 4:13)… with a plan that at the exposed places or most vulnerable places of the wall he assigned people by families with their swords, lances, and bows. (The Message) After Nehemiah looked over the setup (Nehemiah 4:14), he said to them all, “Don’t be afraid of them. REMEMBER THE LORD, who is great and awesome.” Nehemiah’s words remind me of the words of a song: The mountain will tell you That you can’t make it over It will try to convince you that it’s way too high. Don’t you feel defeated Know that God keeps His promise. SO you tell the mountain just how BIG YOUR GOD IS!* WHEN WE REMEMBER WHO IS FOR US, we can have victory over the trials, dangers, toils, snares…the mountains…that come against us!
