Engineer secretly saved London from World War Two floods (BBC) An engineer secretly saved London from drowning more than 100 times during World War Two. Sir Thomas Pierson Frank secretly fixed flood defences along the Thames which had been damaged by intense bombing raids. Gustav Milne, an archaeologist from the Museum of London, and Clive Cockerton from the Institution of Civil Engineers describe what he did.
