Envision there is a stove, and you and another person are around it. Now imagine that person put you on the stove and turned on the heat. Now at first, the stove will only be warm, so you dont mind. Then, it gets hotter, but you can still handle it. Now the stove is getting too hot, and you want to get up. Now imagine that other person puts their hands on your shoulders and says Oh, dont worry, things are getting better and you can get up soon. The stove is now burning and you want to get up. But this person wont let you. This is the Situation we, as Indigenous People, find ourselves in today. Now, are we going to continue to sit on this hot stove? Or are we going to stand up and do something about it?
