Erebus Story as told by Sam cause he is the one who watched all of this happen: After many fruitless attempts making mad dashes after the many squirrels in our front yard, he finally found one that zigged when he should have zagged. While lying there enjoying the fruits of his chase, merrily crunching on the bones of his fresh kill, the garbage truck arrives on our road. We are far off the street that you can only hear it and not see it but of course Erebus has to warn the neighborhood of the impending danger of these awful people stealing our garbage cans that he sets off to the road. After several bounds he comes to a skidding halt. Whoops, I cant leave the squirrel so he whirls around and retrieves the squirrel and resumes his mission to save the neighborhood from the evil garbage man. But alas, no matter how big and black you are, you just dont sound very threatening with a mouth full of squirrel. So he drops his squirrel and barks, then he realized he cant do both. He retrieves his squirrel and searches frantically for a place to deposit his treasure. He runs to and fro and finally decides on a leaf pile because he doesnt have to dig in the dirt, he can just shove his squirrel int he leaves. With the squirrel safely deposited in the leaves, Erebus resumes his heroic quest but discovers to his dismay that the garbage truck is long gone. So with this danger past, he trots back over to the leaf pile, retrieves the squirrel and picks up where he left off.
