Even as an atheist, I dont mind calling the upcoming holiday Christmas. Sometimes I might refer to it as Xmas, or just the Holidays. Hell, for historical accuracy, I may refer to it as Saturnalia (Io Saturnalia!). It all depends on the person Im saying it to and context. When Im with family, I say Christmas, because I have a largely religious family. Which is fine. I dont mind. Whereas, if Im with friends, Ill say Xmas, because the vast majority of my friends arent religious whatsoever. Hell, sometimes we may even say Christmas, because we really dont care. And when I say it online, or at a gathering, whatever, I say the Holidays, because Im not an idiot who believes the entire nation is made up of Christians. People need to realize that the United States isnt a Christian Nation, nor were its founding fathers Christians. They were deists, at best. Even then, today the United States is made up of Christians, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Deists, Mormons, Scientologists, Pagans, and Atheists. Ignoring that fact is just you being a dogmatic moron. Understanding this, I say to everyone - friends, family, comrades, and complete strangers - I hope you all have a Happy Holidays! :)
