Evening Meditation on the gift of Prayer: Mother Theresa: Love to pray! Feel the need to pray often during the day and night. Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing Gods gift of Himself. Ask and seek and your heart will grow big enough to receive Him and keep Him as your own. St. John Vianney says of Mental Prayer Shut your eyes, shut your mouth and open your heart. In vocal prayer we speak to God; in mental prayer He speak set to us. My prayer must pour forth from a heart burning with love. My prayer must speak to my Beloved with great reverence and great confidence. I offer my praise to The Father, Son,and Holy Spirit, One God in Three Divine Persons. Holy God, mighty God, God immortal be adored! I offer my songs of praise with my whole heart and soul letting the love of God take entire and absolute possession of my heart. Today my heart was heavy; I went to the Adoration Chapel, I looked at Him in silence, He looked at me and took away my heavy heart. Face to face with Jesus, moments of solitude in His Holy Presence, brings peace and healing and strength to move on. I pray for the light of The Holy Spirit to shine in my heart and remove all darkness. I pray for that light to know the will of God, for the love to accept the will of God, For the wisdom to do the will of God. St. Therese of Lisieux tells us: For me, prayer means launching out of the heart toward God; a cry of graceful love from the crest of joy or the trough of despair; it is a vast, supernatural force that opens out my heart, and binds me close to Jesus! I sing to my Jesus, day and night: Make my life a prayer to You; help me Lord to always love and serve You! Make my life a prayer to You; may I always do what You want me to do. My life as a prayer is a life being one with You. Without my life as prayer, my life will have no power, I must pray and praise Your every single hour. Make my life a prayer to You walking in Your presence, Filled with Your aroma may I spread Your essence. I go to sleep contemplating the lessons You teach me: Listen to the voice of God in my heart; In the silence of my heart God speaks. From the fullness of my heart, in the overflow, my mouth will sing of His Glory! In His Love!
