Thursday, July 18, 2013 1:30P EB Auditorium Guest Panelist: Jamie Elasick – Event Management Course Director in the EBBS program and had the opportunity to join the SXSW Planning Crew as an Intern Chris Martingnago – Full Sail Music Business student and former SXSW Volunteer Heather Torres – Department Chair for the Entertainment Business Bachelors Degree program Dempsey Jones, SXSW Volunteer Coordinator & SXSWfm Music Coordinator Dempsey is an experienced event production and management professional in the Austin, Texas area. She recently received her Bachelorsdegree in Communication Studies from Southwestern University. As an undergrad, she worked as a University Entertainment Event Programmer and began venturing into the field of broadcasting. Dempsey has worked with various radio stations across the United States and in London, England. After two years of interning with SXSW, she began working on staff as a senior in college, and she spent her final semester coordinating Clusterfest, music and arts festival in Georgetown, Texas. She is currently employed as the Platinum Conference Crews Volunteer Coordinator and the SXSWfm Music Coordinator at South by Southwest, LLC. Gene Butler, Event Production Coordinator for SXSW Gene is an experienced full-service events production and management professional. Based in Austin, Gene has worked with events from across the United States and North America. Among his current projects; he is the Volunteer Coordinator with the Austin Hot Sauce Festival, Transportation Coordinator for several DavidKurio Designs events, and a Scan Supervisor at Bonnaroo for Fahntoosh Enterprises. Currently he is working on the Texas Tribune Festival and SXSWEco. He is employed full time as the Volunteer & Intern Coordinator for South by Southwest Conference and Festival in Austin.
