Everett Appelt Jr 9 mins Today we face groups that want to take from our goodwill and values and give nothing in return. They come here to create a microcosm of their own culture here on our soil with no regard to our own laws and traditions. They sue for acceptance and make no effort to become Americans. I see a shift in my America with cultures trying to come here and subvert our own long standing culture and debase our language or laws. We are a melting pot of all cultures but it requires those coming here to shed their old ways and accept the new ones. To put aside the old language and speak the language common and binding to us all. American English grows with every culture that adopts it but we fail when we piece meal everything and pander to individual groups. We are a nation bound by language, common laws and beliefs. If you cannot stand to speak the language of America of if the sight of my flag offends you, the door works both ways folks. I may not agree with all of what you may say, but I will defend your right to my death for you to be able to say it. I am an American by both birth and deed and I want everyone to live as we do. I want everyone to feel the freedom we have. I want them to rise up in their homelands and fight for what we have fought for. We should not give up what we have to support the failings of other but we should raise them up to fight for their freedoms. We should not have to change what we are to appease the few that stand in our way. Happy 238th Birthday America... May we see and understand the cultural scourge that is ever present and may we have the strength to speak against and stand up to tyranny. May God give us all the strength to keep alive what so many have died trying to achieve and protect.
